Crosstown Doughnuts

Donut miss this one…

The MarketDayLDN team took some time out of their busy schedule to conduct a taste-test on your behalf.

After a quick visit to Spitalfields Market, we couldn’t resist a stop at Crosstown Doughnuts.

We picked up three freshly baked doughnuts from their glorious selection and here were our thoughts:

Chai Tea

You definitely have to like chai to enjoy this doughnut as it’s filled with a creamy, chai custard filling. Topped with a chai glaze & chopped pistachios, this sourdough doughnut is a delicious treat, perfect to hit the spot at 4pm on a work week.

Chocolate Truffle

Head over to Belgium with this chocolately treat. Filled with a decadent chocolate truffle mousse and covered with a dark chocolate ganache, this one received almighty praise from the majority of the team. We liked the chocolate mousse, we loved the chocolate ganache and we still lust for the cocoa powder.

Sea Salt Caramel Banana

Now, this is an indulgent doughnut. Think banana, think custard, think chocolate and then combine the 3 with a generous swirl of sea salt caramel. We loved the salty kick which complemented the banana beautifully. Although this one may need to be split between you and a friend as it’s a tad rich.
